Getting Started:
To get started, please take a few moments to review the course materials located on course Main Page. You will notice the Summary of Course Assignments is published on the Main Course Menu on the left side for the page. Weekly assignments and instructions are published in the Coursework-Assignmentsunit located in the Main Course Menu.
Be sure to take a few moments to complete the Engagement Assignment, then proceed to the Collaboration Forum to meet your colleagues by posting your introduction under the topic, Introductory Exercises. To enter the Collaboration Forum, click the Collaboration-Forums link on the Main Page of the course, then select Week #1. Once you submit your post, start the chapter readings and use your notes to draft responses to the research concepts essay questions and scroll down below to read the summary of course assignments.
This is a fast-paced course that requires a serious and consistent attention to the major course project. So, take an honest view of yourself and your study habits: How you will plan to approach the assignments for your courses this semester, and how will you manage your time? If you believe that your schedule will not permit you to actively participate and to dedicate adequate time to complete each step of the research project over the next eight weeks, I recommend that you speak with your advisor about changing to an alternate course of study prior to the semester 'add/drop' deadline or no later than two weeks following the start of the term.
Please take a few moments to download a copy of the Syllabus (refer to the tab marked 'Syllabus' in the course home directory. If you have any questions, feel free to post a message in my Virtual Office located in the Collaboration-Forums. Shortly, you will receive an email announcing the first class teleconference, which is posted in the Coursework Assignment unit.
I look forward to working with you, and to share in your continued academic success.
