    Description

The Digital Literacy Initiative (DLI) at Union Institute and University is a faculty development program jointly sponsored by the Faculty Distance Teaching and Learning Committee (FDT&LC), the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and UI&U Library.

The DLI is based on this definition of digital literacy:

Digital Literacy is the ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information in a variety of formats. Digital literacy encompasses a set of cognitive and technical skills that facilitate full participation in contemporary cultural spaces, including academic, social, professional and commercial environments. A digitally literate individual is a sophisticated and pragmatic consumer of all forms of information and is able to synthesize and transmit information in an authentic and legible manner to a variety of audiences.
