Union Institute and University (UI&U) operates in compliance with the provisions of the United States Federal Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA), Public Law 110-315 concerning the verification of student identity in distance learning. All students are required to use a unique and secure username and password to access our cloud-based environments, including our learning management and email systems.

Brightspace

In January 2020 the university transitioned to a new learning management system (LMS), Brightspace by D2L (succeed.myunion.edu/). This is where you will complete your online courses.

To log in to Brightspace use your Single- Sign-On credentials:

1. Your username and (initial) password

1. Username: The letter U + your 6 digit UI&U ID
  1. Example: U123456
2. Initial password: UIU (all caps) + the last six digits of your Social Security number + !

Recommended computer specifications

To ensure your academic success at Union Institute and University we recommend the following minimum requirements for your personal computers. Please contact the UI&U Help Desk (513 487 4357, help@myunion.edu) with any questions or concerns.

Internet bandwidth: 5 MBPS or higher

Computer hardware:

Processor: Intel Core i5 and higher or AMD equivalent
Memory: 8 GB
Hard Drive: 160 GB and higher

Supported versions of Microsoft Office: Office 365 and Office 2013 and higher

Note: Effective December 4, 2015, Student and Alumni email passwords have been reset to the default of UIU and the last six digits of your social security number (e.g.: UIU456789).

Email address for faculty members are available from your student email address book.
