Since 2014, Katie has helped individuals and families gain self-sufficiency through her work as a career counselor with the Vermont Department of Labor (where she will maintain her full-time role). She works closely with jobseekers, employers, training providers and other human service agencies. She is actively involved with the Southern Vermont Young Professionals, a professional development, social, and networking group designed to retain and support new and native Vermonters between the ages of 22-45. Katie earned a Master of Education in School Counseling from Suffolk University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Castleton University. 


Growing up in Central Vermont, Katie has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys spending time traveling to mountains near and far with her dog, Knox. Together they have hiked the NH48, NH Winter 48, New England 67, ADK46 and the Northeast 111. She has a goal of visiting all USA high points. She has visited 31 so far.


The Career Counselor position is currently quarter-time. Katie will be working 10-hours a week. She will be available from 5:00pm EST – 9:00pm EST on Monday & Wednesday, plus two additional hours which will be determined by student and faculty needs. She can make her lunch hour or weekend hours available when it is best to do so for our students. Katie will be hosting a MEET THE NEW CAREER COUNSELOR webinar on Wednesday, December 1.
